Faith and Fear

Category : Youth activities

Opposite of faith is fear. When faith comes in fear goes out, and when faith goes out, fear comes in. ?#keep??the?faith?.

Holiness is not serious faces

Category : Youth activities

Holiness does not mean serious faces and formal dressing. Singing, dancing, shouting and laughter can also be holy. But just do it in spirit and in truth.

?#?MY_PASTOR_SAID_SO?

Category : Youth activities

Our spiritual attitude must be established by the word of God in general and by the day to day relationship with Christ in particular. But most of us have our spiritual understanding built over a long period of time based on the influences of people. Some can be influenced by their pastor, some by their church or some even by their parents. And the worst of all is to be influenced by our ‘self’. It is not bad to be influenced by our pastor or the church or our parents, but if that influence is bigger than that of Jesus Christ Himself, then it is a worrisome scenario. Our hearts turn stones and we cannot receive or tolerate anything outside our well established beliefs. It is so crucial therefore to understand that we could be WRONG. This is when we need wisdom. This is when we must plead Jesus to take away the heart of stone and give us a heart of flesh. This is when we must strengthen our relationship with Christ and follow the Holy Spirit who will be our constant guide.

‘Terminology, Technology’

Category : Youth activities

‘Terminology, Technology': I have seen it all. In my business school, I have seen overhead projectors, PowerPoint presentations, and extensive use of scientific terminology. They were very intellectual yet nearly impractical teachings. For some reason I don’t like Bible being taught in this manner. Even if technology is OK, the corporate like terminology in Bible teaching that is mainly aimed at display of the intellect of the teacher is annoying. I was once sitting in a conference where the speaker came up with a big presentation on how to win souls. He was full of strategies, and it was more like a business class, like buying and selling. The ‘supernatural’ was missing. It is good to have some plans, but we cannot discount the supernatural. Using technology is good if we can exclude our own intellect and include the supernatural. I have no problem when preachers read from mobiles or preach from ipads. It is only good as the word of God is reaching millions in the digital form. I praise God for it.

Freedom

Category : Youth activities

Following rules is freedom, breaking them is bondage. This generation thinks quite opposite.

Verse of the Day

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. — Psalm 27:14 (NIV)
